Nerja, Spain

We had a successful weekend in Nerja, Spain. We took a 2-hour bus ride to Nerja on Friday morning, stayed in a hostel for one night, and took the bus back to Granada Saturday night. Our trip consisted of laying on the beach, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, jumping off of giant rocks, finding new paths through the rocks and water to walk/climb through, eating ice cream, playing frisbee, visiting some caves, checking out the bar scene at night, sleeping 4 people in a 3 person room at the hostel, and eating nutella like it's going out of style. I'll have to admit that this semester feels like a vacation to me right now. Definitely not going to complain about it. I was a little jealous seeing pictures of the Badger game yesterday, but then I realized that I had just spent the weekend at a beach in Southern Spain, and I've decided that I'll save the Badger games for next year. My friend, Kayla, has a waterproof camera, so we brought it on our excursions and took some pretty awesome pictures...

The first little beach we saw.
Roommates for the night: Elizabeth, Kathleen, Kayla and I.
This was along the mini beach we were camped out at. Seriously beautiful scenery.
Still repping the Badgers from across the creek.
Several girls in our group. We brought 24 people with us on the trip.
Not in a pool... In the Mediterranean Sea. Nbd.

Pure happiness.
Another beach. Nerja is filled with many beaches separated by rocks or piers. I think it makes it a little more interesting than just having one giant beach. It's also fun finding a way to get from one beach to another without going on land, but through rocks and water.

My future business... I'm going to rent these paddle boats with slides around the U.S. Anyone in with me?
Nerja has caves that we took a tour through, the pictures definitely don't do justice.

Needless to say, I had an amazing, relaxing weekend away on the beautiful beaches of Nerja. I also succeeded in not getting completely fried. Our next trip is next weekend to Lagos, Portugal! Should consist of more beach days, boat riding and depending on how much it costs, maybe surfing!
