Lagos, Portugal

Our group took an 8 hour bus ride to the beautiful city of Lagos, Portugal, last weekend. Even though the trip was pretty pricey, we did have an amazing hotel room, the best continental breakfast ever, free alcohol at the beach and a group of guys working for a company called Discover Excursions serving as our guides showing us around to all the coolest places, bars and views. Each day, you could choose to pay for an extra "excursion," I decided to participate in the bottom-less sangria boat ride and surfing.
The pool at the hotel.

My bed, with my own patio overlooking the pool. Yes please.

The kitchen. I've discovered that the best way to save money on a trip is to stock up on groceries.

Living room. (Note the balcony that went all the way around our corner room.)

Another view of the living room.

Not sure.

Bought a postcard with legit this same view, minus the human.

The little guy outside our hotel.

Surfing and Sangria boat cruise pictures to follow...

In our wet suits. The water was sooo cold, and these wet suits definitely saved me from getting sick, they're actually kind of comfy, but not too stylish.
On our Sangria boat cruise. Literally one of the best times of the trip so far. Nothing but Sangria (wine + juice), sun, friends, ocean, boat, bliss.

Our boat with bottomless sangria.
We got off our big boat and onto a smaller boat to venture through the caves. This boat ride was a little more wicked, requiring the awesome life jackets.
Ahead yeah can see some of the caves we rode through. It was beautiful inside.

We took surfing lessons with one of the locals. These lessons consisted of us playing freeze tag to warm up, him showing us how to stand up on the board on land, us practicing on land, then him showing us in the water, and then out we went to try it.
About the best I could do on the surfboard. Haha, well I could stand up for like one second, but it definitely didn't look very stable...
Pro surfers.
I definitely wasn't very good at surfing, but it was my first try. Hoping I can try it again, but next time with a whole day to practice. We only had an hour in the water to try it, which was definitely not enough time. So until next time...
